About Us

I’m a retired physician who has been coding since the 1980s, starting with Fortran 77. My early projects connected research instruments to databases in cancer research. After opening my practice, I built EMR interfaces for Health Information Exchanges and managed the office’s network, servers, websites, and EMR. Before retiring, I wrote programs to extract data from our large SQL database for a Medicare pilot program.

I often wished I could add a contact from a webpage to Google Contacts with one click. Gemini could compile the information but lacked permission to save it, and Chrome Web Store extensions didn’t meet my needs. So I built an extension that uses AI to extract identity data from webpages—a difficult task without AI. After seeing its value, I decided to develop it for the web store. I built and extensively tested the project in Google Antigravity, using Gemini 3.8 as a coding assistant.

The extension adds a contact to Google Contacts with one click. If a page lists several contacts, it extracts them all, allowing you to review, edit, or delete entries before saving. It supports up to 14 fields and places extra phone numbers, email addresses, and street addresses in Notes.

The extension also processes PDFs after you grant permission in Extension Management under Details. PDF size is limited to about 10 MB.

Security is essential. ID Scrape complies fully with Manifest V3, the latest browser-extension security standard. Built-in safeguards help prevent:

- Code injection (XSS, script injection)

- Malicious link hijacking & pseudo-protocols

- CSV formula & DDE execution (CWE-1236)

- Indirect prompt injection & model jailbreaking

- vCard CRLF tampering & file manipulation

Retired from medicine but still preventing viral infections! Try ID Scrape and let me know what you think.
